Wakenham Language School can open the doors to a world of opportunity for your child.
We offer an excellent academic education with a modern curriculum preparing for the examinations at the end of the academic year. Central to our curriculum beliefs is the idea that all pupils have an area in which they can excel, and to that end we place huge importance on the teaching of Art, Drama, Music and Sport as well as all the subjects that you would expect to find in the latest National Curriculum.
From our website you will clearly see that there is a great deal more to this School than a broad curriculum. We believe strongly that for pupils to succeed they must feel happy and secure in their surroundings. We run the School on family lines, each child being given a sense of their true worth as an individual but also as part of the family. Pupils are taught to respect others, to work as part of a team, and to maintain the traditional values so often forgotten in the modern world. This ethos is maintained as the pupils move on to the colleges we have links with, which is the usual destination after examinations.
We are a forward-thinking school, building on a successful tradition and always striving to reach greater heights. By the time pupils leave we hope that they will have acquired a confidence and a self-belief, together with a set of values that will remain with them throughout their lives. Wakenham Language School community and ethos is that of an enlarged family, where good manners, consideration for others and a sense of links to, plus an understanding of the needs of, the community as a whole are of great importance.
In addition to a dedicated IT Room, each classroom has its own computer and there is a well-equipped Science Laboratory, Technology Room and an attractive Library and Reading Room. Spacious sports fields surround the School, which accommodate pitches for all the main sports.
The School offers an exciting education, covering a broad curriculum in a beautiful environment. The students are well cared for and they make good friends here. A busy community enables students to work hard and aim high, as well as take advantage of a huge range of opportunities outside the classroom.
